Lynn started writing policies in 1981, and he never left. Forty-five years in the same town does something no advertising can do: the people he insured at thirty are the people he walked through Medicare at sixty-five. The same families kept coming back, and then their children came, because their parents told them to.

Brett grew up inside the work. The phone calls at dinner. The folders spread across the kitchen table every fall when the new plans came out. The neighbors who stopped Lynn in the grocery store to ask about a bill they didn't understand — and got a real answer, right there in the aisle.

Now Lynn is starting to step back, and Brett is stepping in. Not a stranger taking over, not an out-of-state company buying a book of business — a son stepping into the seat he grew up next to. The office is the same. The phone numbers still get answered by a Hansen.
