Medicare Supplements & Advantage

Medicare, explained plainly.

Turning 65 comes with a stack of mail and a lot of pressure. We'll sit down with you, compare what's actually available where you live, and explain the tradeoffs in words that make sense — with no obligation to buy anything.

The two main paths

Once you're on Original Medicare (Parts A and B), most people add coverage one of two ways. Neither one is "the best." The right answer depends on your health, your budget, and which doctors you want to keep.

Medicare Supplement (Medigap)

Works alongside Original Medicare. It helps pay the portion of your medical bills Medicare doesn't — deductibles, copays, coinsurance. Higher monthly premium, fewer surprises, and you can see any doctor who takes Medicare.

Medicare Advantage (Part C)

Replaces how you receive your Medicare benefits, through a private plan. Often a low or $0 monthly premium, and it may include extras like dental or vision — but you'll use the plan's network of doctors and pay as you go.

Part D (prescription drugs)

Drug coverage is its own decision. We check your actual prescription list against each plan's list of covered drugs so the "cheap" plan doesn't turn out expensive at the pharmacy.

What we do for you

  • Compare the Supplement and Advantage plans available at your address — not a national average.
  • Check that your doctors and your prescriptions are covered before you enroll, not after.
  • Explain what you'll pay in a normal year and in a bad year, side by side.
  • Handle the enrollment paperwork with you, at the kitchen table or over the phone.
  • Review your plan each year at renewal — plans change, and so do you.
  • Stay your point of contact when a bill or a claim doesn't look right.

Who we quote

We're appointed with carriers including Blue Cross Blue Shield, SelectHealth, UnitedHealthcare®/AARP®, Regence BlueCross BlueShield, and EMI Health. When a medical cost sharing community like Zion HealthShare fits your situation, we can walk you through that too — and we'll explain plainly how sharing differs from insurance, because it isn't insurance.

This is for you if…

  • You turn 65 within the next year and want to start clear-headed.
  • You're already enrolled but wonder whether your plan still fits.
  • You're helping a parent sort through their options.
  • You're retiring and leaving an employer plan.

This opens our plan-comparison tool on a partner site, in a new tab.
